The Northgate Vikings suffered their biggest loss since December 9, 2023 on Saturday. They were beaten by Creekside 64-35. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northgate has scored all season.
Northgate's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Randria Wilcher, who scored 18 points along with two blocks, and DeAsia Stinson who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Wilcher posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Holly Metz, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds.
Leading Creekside to victory were Sydnee Hunter and C?india Dennis. Hunter scored 20 points along with four steals, while Dennis scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Hunter hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Skye Cleveland was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Northgate and nudges their season record down to 13-6. As for Creekside, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northgate will face off against Drew at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Drew is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Creekside, they will head out on the road to square off against Mays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
