Springville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Spanish Fork Dons at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Springville is ranked 74th, while the Dons are ranked 64th).
Last Tuesday, Springville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Aviators, but they still walked away with a 39-34 victory. The victory was just what Springville needed coming off of a 64-43 defeat in their prior match.
Halle Hall and Natalie Florence were among the main playmakers for Springville as the former scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and the latter shot 4-for-5 from deep and almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Florence has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Spanish Fork fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Skyhawks on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Skyhawks by a score of 51-49. Spanish Fork's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it six in a row.
Springville's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-14. As for Spanish Fork, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-11.
Springville came up short against the Dons in their previous meeting back in January, falling 38-30. Can Springville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
