The St. Francis Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Alisal on the road and fell 76-38. St. Francis has not had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
St. Francis' loss came despite strong showings from Jacob Jimenez and Joseph Rose. Jimenez scored 14 points along with eight rebounds, while Rose scored 16 points. That was a full 42.1% of St. Francis' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alisal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adrian Cardenas, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 assists. Cardenas hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Gregory Cabrera, who scored 25 points.
St. Francis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for Alisal, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
St. Francis will take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stevenson is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Alisal, they will head out on the road to square off against the Condors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Monterey County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 954th, while the Trojans are ranked 416th).
