Basketball Recap: Lakewood Presbyterian Takes a Loss

Lakewood Presbyterian lost against Trinity Christian Academy last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lakewood Presbyterian Knights fell just short of the Trinity Christian Academy Warriors by a score of 40-38.

Despite the defeat, Lakewood Presbyterian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zoeh Kinson almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Kinson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Sarah Montgomery was another key player, putting up eight points.

Trinity Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Fagan, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hanna Stephens, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards.

Lakewood Presbyterian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-9.

Lakewood Presbyterian has already played their next game (against Faustina Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Trinity Christian Academy will be playing at home against Yantis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian Academy is facing Yantis at the right time seeing as Yantis is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
