The Linden Lions will take on the Central Valley Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Linden had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Weston Ranch on Friday. Linden's pitchers stepped up to hand Weston Ranch a 10-0 shutout.
Justin Sales was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Sales was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Dax Weber was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Brody Black was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Central Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over Ripon on Friday.
Like Linden, Central Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Chris Garcia. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Edgar Peralta, who scored four runs while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Mason Whitworth, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Linden's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Central Valley, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
