Sacramento Valley recap November 5, 2013
Durham scaled the state rankings by moving to 650 from 699 this week, the biggest jump in Sacramento Valley. The Trojans were able to move up by beating Mt. Shasta 54-14.
Pierce took down Live Oak 55-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Adolfo Ramirez ran for 157 yards in the win.
The Bears' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jake Voorhees threw for 56 yards and Oscar Sanchez had 30 yards receiving. On the ground Ramirez contributed 157 yards. Joe Howard helped Pierce's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 26 yards.
Pierce's dynamic duo of Voorhees and Sanchez proved tough for the Lions to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Howard helped Pierce's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 26 yards.
Ramirez provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Scott Burnum's team bested Live Oak.
Cory Cook of the Trinity is only 100 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 124 carries Cook has accumulated 900 yard this year.
The Wolves are in first place, while Mt. Shasta is in fifth place.
Durham made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,234 from 9,958. The improvement was largely due to a 54-14 victory over Jason Young's team last week.
