Basketball Recap: Denair Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Turlock Christian came into Friday's match looking for another win against Denair, but Koby Cervantes wouldn't allow it. The Denair Coyotes were the clear victor by a 75-51 margin over the Turlock Christian Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Cervantes, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 35 points and 15 boards. His evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Despite the loss, Turlock Christian still got an impressive performance from Michael Miller, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Miller has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Winston York, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

Denair has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points per game. As for Turlock Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Denair didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-27 victory against Valley on the 2nd. As for Turlock Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 74-43 win against Elliot Christian on the 30th.
