1A Yadkin Valley recap Oct. 30, 2012
Albemarle extended the longest winning streak in 1A Yadkin Valley this week by beating South Stanly, 48-6. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Bulldogs.
North Rowan led the league in scoring this week after putting up 74 points on South Davidson.
Albemarle's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Deon Christian threw for 221 and three touchdowns and Timmie White had 147 yards receiving. On the ground Markez Brown chipped in 123 yards. Brown helped Albemarle's passing attack out by catching four balls for 46 yards.
Albemarle's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Christian has thrown for 1386 yards and 19 touchdowns this season, while White has 21 catches for 494 yards. Kevin McKinney leads the league in rushing with 1122 yards.
A big matchup in 1A Yadkin Valley this week will be when the Cavaliers take on West Montgomery. North Rowan is currently in third, while the Warriors are in fourth.
