With a playoff win on the line, Sumner rose to the challenge on Monday. They claimed a resounding 27-0 victory over the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs. The Stingrays' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

The critical scores for Sumner came from Aryana Saenz, Victoria Thurman, Kimmy Garnett, and Amari Luster.

Sumner didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kynedi Richardson and Luster. Luster got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Sumner is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.3 points on average over those games. As for Lakewood Ranch, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.

Sumner didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 30-0 defeat against Lennard on the 15th. Lakewood Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
