After three games on the road, Flat Rock is heading back home. They will take on the Milan Big Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Thursday, Flat Rock came up short against Grosse Ile and fell 45-33.
Despite the loss, Flat Rock had strong showings from Lily Klein, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, and Mckenna Williams, who scored eight points along with two steals. Klein hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games.
Flat Rock struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Milan had to settle for a 43-40 defeat against Riverview last Thursday. While losing is never fun, Milan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Riverview is ranked 77th).
Flat Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Milan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.
Flat Rock beat Milan 37-29 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Will Flat Rock repeat their success, or does Milan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
