This was a revenge contest for Statesville Christian, as the team was forced to settle for a 36-33 loss when these two played last Monday.
Despite the loss, Hickory Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Mia McGrath, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. McGrath has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cece Dechellis, who scored four points along with ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hickory Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Statesville Christian's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Hickory Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Statesville Christian will head out on the road to take on Burlington Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hickory Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against University Christian at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (University Christian is ranked 527th, while Hickory Christian Academy is ranked 541st).
