Gray Stone Day took a serious blow against the Comets, falling 63-34. Gray Stone Day was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.
Gray Stone Day's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Bitzer, who scored six points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Evan Barber, who scored eight points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Gray Stone Day and nudges their season record down to 1-15. As for North Stanly, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season.
Gray Stone Day will head out on the road to challenge the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Union Academy is on a four-game streak of home losses, the Knights a 20-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. North Stanly will take on the Rowdy Rebel Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
