Two dominant guards in Jeremiah Butler and Daniel Huerta are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Inderkum Tigers will take on the St. Mary's Rams at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Inderkum knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 games -- so hopefully the Rams like a good challenge.
Inderkum stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Yuba City at home to the tune of 92-43. Given Inderkum's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Honkers are ranked 757th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's beat the Tigers 64-53 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for St. Mary's.
Huerta was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Cayden Ward, who scored nine points along with six assists.
Inderkum pushed their record up to 17-6 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39 points. As for St. Mary's, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 19-6 record this season.
