The Kirtland Central Broncos had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against Miyamura by a score of 72-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kirtland Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Osai Garcia, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Garcia scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamus Hogue, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Kirtland Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Miyamura, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kirtland Central will take on Aztec at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Aztec is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Miyamura, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bloomfield at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bloomfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday.
