The Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success  on Thursday. They came out on top against Sierra by a score of  44-33. The  win was a breath of fresh air for Cheyenne Mountain as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
 Cheyenne Mountain was led to victory by  Lucy Trunnell and  Ainsley Norton.  Trunnell  scored 15 points along with five  rebounds and five  steals, while  Norton  scored 13 points along with seven  rebounds and five  assists. That's the first time this season that  Trunnell  scored 15 or more  points.  Olivia Reatherford was another key contributor,  scoring six points along with four  steals.
 When it comes to explaining why Sierra lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Shetara Roebuck. Despite the final result, she  scored 20 points along with five  steals. Roebuck scored a full 60.6% of Sierra's points, the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was  Nalia Calhoun-Pope, who  scored seven points along with seven  rebounds.
 Cheyenne Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Sierra, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Coincidentally,  the two teams will both be playing Widefield the next time they take the court. Sierra will head out to face Widefield at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday, while Cheyenne Mountain will  host them  at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
