With a playoff win on the line, Centralia rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the East St. Louis Flyers a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Orphans, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Centralia pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. As for East St. Louis, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

As of now, neither Centralia nor the Flyers have any future games scheduled.
