Lumberton won against Gray's Creek last Tuesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Everything went the Lumberton Pirates' way against the Douglas Byrd Eagles as the Lumberton Pirates made off with a 61-37 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Andrea Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 31 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charley Whitley, who posted 13 points and five steals.

Lumberton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas Byrd only pulled down five offensive boards.

Despite the loss, Douglas Byrd still got an impressive performance from Jazmine Burns, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 boards. That was a full 48.6% of Douglas Byrd's points, marking the third time in a row Burns has put up more than a third of the team's points.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Lumberton, bringing their record for this year to 13-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Douglas Byrd, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lumberton beat Douglas Byrd by a score of 76-25 on Friday.
