The Washington County Golden Hawks pushed their score all the way to 59 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Baldwin 87-59. While losing is never fun, Washington County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Baldwin is ranked 34th).
Baldwin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Dennis, who scored 25 points. Dennis hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Deven Nelson, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Washington County's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Baldwin, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington County will take on Josey at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Josey comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Baldwin, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Spalding at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Bahji Daniel and Dennis.
