Calvary Baptist Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Lakeside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Baptist Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 195 points over their last four games.
Calvary Baptist Academy stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat D'Arbonne Woods 35-0 at home. Given Calvary Baptist Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked eighth, while D'Arbonne Woods is ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
James Simon had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 141 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also caught a touchdown. Abram Wardell also helped out by tossing the rock for 308 yards.
Meanwhile, Lakeside's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Loyola College Prep on the road and fell 52-0. Lakeside was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Calvary Baptist Academy's win was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.8 points per game. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Calvary Baptist Academy against Lakeside in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 63-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calvary Baptist Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
