The Freedom Patriots will face off against the Northampton Konkrete Kids at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freedom is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Freedom came out on top against Bethlehem Catholic on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Hawks. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

John Phillips was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Colin Andrews was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run and two runs. Ryan Kullman was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Freedom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethlehem Catholic only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Northampton's offense. They fell just short of Nazareth Area by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that the Konkrete Kids have lost by just one run.
Northampton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Sugra, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Freedom's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Northampton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Freedom has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Northampton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Freedom took their win against Northampton in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-0 score. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Konkrete Kids turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
