Winter Park has won six straight games at home, while Hagerty has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Wildcats will welcome the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Winter Park is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Lake Mary with a sharp 15-2 victory. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Chase Carney looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Isaac Incinelli was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Smith, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Hagerty never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against West Orange on Saturday. They blew past the Warriors 14-3. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won 11 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
N. Adkins looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, Hagerty got a massive performance out of M. Murray Jr., who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Murray Jr. has posted since back in February of 2024. S. Chucka was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Hagerty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Winter Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Hagerty, their victory bumped their record up to 25-4-1.
Winter Park came up short against Hagerty when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 4-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
