After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilcox County, the Telfair County Trojans were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They secured a 59-53 W over Bleckley County. This was payback for Telfair County, who suffered a 57-50 loss the last time these two teams met.
Leading Telfair County to victory were Passion Clay and Zah'Mya McDuffie. Clay scored 23 points along with five steals, while McDuffie scored 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Clay has scored all season. Ty'Teionna Jones was another key contributor, scoring two points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Telfair County's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Bleckley County, their loss dropped their record down to 15-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Telfair County will face off against Dooly County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dooly County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Bleckley County, they will head out on the road to face off against Swainsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
