The American Patriots will face off against the Ferguson Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. American is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
American hadn't beaten Hialeah Gardens on the road since March 11, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Patriots blew past the Gladiators 9-3. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Gladiators recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Mia Harrison was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashley Ramon, who scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Yianelis Rivera, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Ferguson was a bit more limited in their matchup back in March. They came up short against Palmetto, falling 8-1.
Ferguson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Idalys Lopez, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
American's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Ferguson, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. American has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Ferguson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
American came out on top in a nail-biter against Ferguson when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 10-8. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
