Mt. Gilead is 0-10 against Northmor since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. The Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Golden Knights at 5:15 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Mt. Gilead barely beat Mansfield Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians blew past the Flames 18-2 on Saturday. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Anavey Jodrey made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Jodrey was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Aris Creasap also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Mt. Gilead was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mansfield Christian only posted a batting average of .241.
Meanwhile, Northmor came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Redmen get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory. The Golden Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Northmor got a massive performance out of Kallie Wright, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Wright is also on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lexi See, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
The win made it two in a row for Mt. Gilead and bumps their season record up to 2-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Northmor, their record is now 7-4.
Mt. Gilead suffered a grim 14-1 defeat to Northmor in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
