Jersey Shore is 1-9 against Montoursville since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Jersey Shore will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Jersey Shore had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Selinsgrove on Friday. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Seals with a sharp 11-2 victory. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season.
Zach Myers was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Rhinehart, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-5. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Welshans, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Jersey Shore lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Montoursville came out on top against Lewisburg on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Warriors blew past the Green Dragons 8-1. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Green Dragons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Brody Aldenderfer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Aldenderfer was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Zack Neill was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Noah Kirby was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
Montoursville's win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Jersey Shore, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jersey Shore has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Montoursville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Jersey Shore might still be hurting after the 19-2 loss they got from Montoursville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
