After a string of three wins, the Big Sandy Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to McLeod 51-47. While losing is never fun, Big Sandy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1144th, while the Longhorns are ranked 524th).
Big Sandy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adrian Petty-johnson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Trey Coleman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Big Sandy's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for McLeod, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 31-3.
