Meanwhile, Munster came tearing into Monday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Fighting 59ers 4-2.
Like Kankakee Valley, Munster also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaylee O'Connell. Munster pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kankakee Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
Both Kankakee Valley and Munster just can't seem to miss. The Kougars have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Munster struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Kankakee Valley might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Munster in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Kougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
