Baseball Recap: Simla Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Simla lost against Limon back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Simla took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Limon. That's two games in a row now that the Cubs have lost by exactly four runs.

Tatum Kocerha was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Kocerha is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Connor Maranville made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Simla's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Limon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Simla will head out to challenge Merino at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Merino will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Simla surely won't give up without a fight. As for Limon, they will venture away from home to face off against Swink at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Limon's pitchers better be ready for this one: Swink has averaged an impressive 12.2 runs per game this season.
