Despite the loss, Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Isiah Keep scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. The matchup was Keep's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Micah Vandelinde was another key contributor, scoring 10 points.
East Ridge's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
