Memorial fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Abilene on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 55-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Abilene Eagles. The Mavericks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Memorial's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for Abilene, they pushed their record up to 13-12 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cooper the next time they take the court. Abilene will head out to face Cooper at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Memorial will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 10th.
