The Carter Lions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Rialto by a score of 19-16. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but Carter was just barely outscored by Rialto in the second.
When it comes to explaining why Carter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Logan "Ryder" Carson. Despite the final result, he rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown.
Anthony Buckley was the offensive standout of the contest as he gained 193 total yards. He set a new season high mark in rushing yards with 151. Rialto also got a significant boost from Alb Baber, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.
Carter's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-9 Rialto and 4-6 Rim of the World (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Rialto, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-9.
Carter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Rialto also has no future games currently scheduled.
