The City of Life Christian Academy Warriors will face off against the Celebration Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Back in December of 2024, City of Life Christian Academy made easy work of Legacy Charter and carried off a 38-17 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.
Abigail Squires was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of City of Life Christian Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Joelle King, who posted four points in addition to 11 boards and six blocks.
City of Life Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Celebration had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They couldn't have asked for a better start to 2025 than the 55-28 blowout they got against Windermere. That 27 point margin sets a new team best for the Storm this season.
City of Life Christian Academy better focus on containing Evelyn Juden and Emma Zukowski as the pair were huge in Celebration's win. Juden almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, while Zukowski went 9 of 14 on her way to 22 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Juden is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Kolaric, who had six points and six rebounds.
City of Life Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.3 points. As for Celebration, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
