Mundy's Mill scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Rockdale County 71-69.
Mundy's Mill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dajuan Riddle led the charge by scoring 19 points. Another player making a difference was Fred Umeano, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Jonesboro had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They really took it to Morrow for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-34 win at home. Considering Jonesboro has won three matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jonesboro got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Montez Redding out in front who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. The match was Redding's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Jones, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Mundy's Mill is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Jonesboro, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
