The Tahoma Bears came tearing into Tuesday's game with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 58-54 victory over Kentridge. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Chargers are ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tahoma found their leader in underclassman Adalynn Busch, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 17 rebounds. Busch is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaycee Harrison, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Despite the loss, Kentridge still got an impressive performance from Sydney Esperanza, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Esperanza is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Jayla Keowla was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Tahoma's victory was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Kentridge, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8.
Tahoma will head out on the road to take on the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kentridge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Conquerors at 7:00 p.m.
