The Highland Scots''s five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 29-28 victory over Ridgeview. The victory was just what Highland needed coming off of a 46-12 defeat in their prior match.
The critical scores for Highland came from Jalen Bailey, Jordan Salcido, and Miguel Garcia.
Ridgeview's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jayson Grant, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also picked up 63 receiving yards. Grant was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 63 yards. Angel Corona was another key contributor, picking up 125 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Highland's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Ridgeview, their loss was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9.
Highland will square off against Exeter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
