Softball Recap: Bow Takes a Loss

Bow dropped their record down to 9-6 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Sanborn Regional Indians by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Falcons' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Sanborn Regional, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For Sanborn Regional's part, the result came thanks to Phoebe Hood's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. Hood has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sanborn Regional's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ardyn Bryan, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bow is set to challenge their familiar foe Kingswood at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sanborn Regional will face off against rival Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
