Baseball Recap: Ignacio Extends Winning Streak to Six

Ignacio waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Nucla Mustangs with a sharp 14-2 win. The Bobcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Ignacio got a big performance out of William M, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave M a new career-high. Stoney W was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ignacio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive contests.

Ignacio's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Nucla, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ignacio will head out to challenge Center at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Nucla, they will venture away from home to face off against Sierra Grande at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
