The Marionville Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lockwood Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Marionville didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Ash Grove, but they still walked away with a 57-52 victory.
It was another big night for Lucy Newberry, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dally Pomeroy, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Lockwood strolled past Pleasant Hope with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 48-31.
Marionville pushed their record up to 18-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lockwood, their win bumped their record up to 15-7-1.
Everything came up roses for Marionville against Lockwood in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 69-30 victory. Will Marionville repeat their success, or does Lockwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
