Escondido Charter is a perfect 5-0 against Coastal Academy since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Escondido Charter Tigers will challenge the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 3:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Escondido Charter took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Madison as Escondido Charter made off with a 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Warhawks: they've now won three in a row.

Selena Salas was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Natalya Powers was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Salas wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Escondido Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Coastal Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand La Jolla Country Day a 12-0 shutout.
Kailee Tran made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base.
Tran wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Hernandez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI. Another was Mikenzie Trevino, who scored two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Coastal Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.8 runs. As for Escondido Charter, their record now sits at 6-2.
Both Escondido Charter and Coastal Academy just can't seem to miss. Escondido Charter has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Coastal Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Escondido Charter's way against Coastal Academy when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Escondido Charter made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Escondido Charter since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
