Havre de Grace hasn't had much luck against Fallston recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Warriors will square off against the Cougars. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Havre de Grace 3.7, Fallston 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Havre de Grace is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Lake Clifton 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 11 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Sarah Weitzel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ryleigh Curry, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Mentzer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.
Havre de Grace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .900. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Fallston won against Bel Air last Monday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Wednesday. The Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over Francis Scott Key. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.
Ally Underwood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Fallston let Abby Marmen and Mary Pfaff run wild. Marmen got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI, while Pfaff went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of May Ambrose, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Havre de Grace is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Fallston, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Havre de Grace hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. However, it's not like Fallston struggles in that department as they've averaged .327. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
