Bethany Community has gone 9-1 against Leadership Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bethany Community Wolves will take on the Leadership Academy Falcons at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
While Bethany Community didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Millennium a 28-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Wolves as they're now sitting on four straight.
Jesse Tucker made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tucker was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Landen Long looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Bethany Community got a massive performance out of Tripp White, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. White also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cohen Brame, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, everything went Leadership Academy's way against Carver on Friday as Leadership Academy made off with a 14-0 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Trent Bryant was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Clay Smith was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one triple.
Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bethany Community, their record now sits at 4-1.
Bethany Community came up short against Leadership Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 6-2. Can Bethany Community avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
