The Lago Vista Vikings will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Blanco Panthers at 6:15 p.m. on December 5th.
Last Saturday, Lago Vista ended up a good deal behind Johnson City and lost 33-18. While losing is never fun, Lago Vista can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 725th, while Johnson City is ranked 290th).
Blanco fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took their matchup on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 55-28 victory over Marion.
It was another big night for Mina Broyles, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. The match was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Candice Lopez, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Their wins bumped Lago Vista to 4-6 and Johnson City to 13-1.
Lago Vista won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, slipping by Blanco 37-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lago Vista since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
