Chaminade is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Christian Brothers a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Chaminade Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Christian Brothers Cadets at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Chaminade turned things around against Washington on Saturday. They walked away with a 12-8 win over the Bluejays. The Red Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Henry Houseworth looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anthony Wohlstadter, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since April 1st. Jackson Miller was another key player, going 3-for-6 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Chaminade kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Christian Brothers made easy work of Gateway Legacy Christian Academy on Thursday and carried off a 10-4 victory. The Cadets haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Dan Bergner looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Christian Brothers is undefeated when Bergner allows one or fewer earned runs, but 5-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Anthony Tocco was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That double was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Effer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-15. As for Christian Brothers, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Chaminade suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Christian Brothers in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Red Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
