The Orange Park Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 65-49 fall against Ponte Vedra. Orange Park was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ponte Vedra apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Orange Park lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Autumn Nesmith, who scored 16 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nesmith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Piera Alexander, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Orange Park has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for Ponte Vedra, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Orange Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Hawthorne at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Ponte Vedra, they will square off against North Florida Educational Institute at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (North Florida Educational Institute is ranked 47th, while Ponte Vedra is ranked 59th).
