Softball Recap: Revere Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Revere, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Highland Hornets with a sharp 9-3 win on Tuesday. The Minutemen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

Ashley Gardner was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Paige Kelley was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Sydney Kreighbaum was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Revere kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 14-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Revere's record is now 16-4. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

The future could be bright for both Revere and Highland: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Minutemen will look to extend Mayfield's six-game losing streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Highland will try to hand Barberton their seventh-straight defeat when the two meet at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
