Aitkin had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over the Crosby-Ironton Rangers. The result was nothing new for the Gobblers, who have now won 11 games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Aitkin's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-7. As for Crosby-Ironton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.

Aitkin will be playing in front of their home fans against Two Harbors at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Agates have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.46 runs per game on average), something the Gobblers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Crosby-Ironton, they will head out on the road to face off against Proctor at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last four games the Rails have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
