Golden Valley has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Del Oro Sun at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Golden Valley was not quite Foothill's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Golden Valley in their matchups with Foothill: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Del Oro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 11th straight loss. They suffered a rough 6-2 loss at the hands of Mira Monte.
Golden Valley's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6-5. As for Del Oro, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15-1.
Everything went Golden Valley's way against Del Oro in their previous meeting last Monday as Golden Valley made off with a 6-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Golden Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
