Sadly, the Western Harnett Eagles are still looking for their first win of the season after 22 games. They were beaten by E.E. Smith 81-47 on Friday. Western Harnett has not had much luck with E.E. Smith recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Zyrik Speller was a one-man wrecking crew for E.E. Smith as he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Speller has scored all season. Roodmael Joseph was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six steals.
Western Harnett dropped their record down to 0-22 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for E.E. Smith, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Western Harnett will be playing in front of their home fans against Westover at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westover will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Western Harnett surely won't give up without a fight. As for E.E. Smith, they will head out on the road to challenge Terry Sanford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully E.E. Smith focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
