Northampton County made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,864 from 8,573. The improvement came about via a 42-32 victory over Riverside last week.
Northampton County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Jaguars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Keion Crossen has thrown for 425 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Brian Lassiter has four catches for 212 yards. Lassiter leads the league in rushing with 929 yards.
The Jaguars' Lassiter needs only 71 yards against Goldsboro next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Northampton County led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Riverside. Crossen ran for 146 yards in the win.
