Beaumont had won five straight games and Tessa Martinez did her part to make it six on Saturday. The Cougars walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Centennial Huskies with plenty of help from Martinez, who threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 65 yards on only eight carries. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times she's played.

One reason for the win was Beaumont's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Kiera Houston was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three herself.

Beaumont's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Centennial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Beaumont will challenge Chino at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centennial, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 18-6 victory against Norco on the 25th.
